ONUS emergency relief vents are specifically engineered to provide overpressure protection for storage tanks in situations where standard vents are insufficient. When properly sized, these vents comply with API Standard 2000 requirements for emergency venting, particularly in fire exposure scenarios. In addition to overpressure protection, they allow easy and quick access for routine tank inspection and maintenance.
These vents are designed exclusively for pressure relief; vacuum relief must be handled by separate venting devices. Upon reaching the predetermined set pressure, the hinged cover of the ONUS emergency vent lifts to release excess pressure. Once normal conditions are restored, the cover automatically reseats onto the base. The integrated hinge mechanism ensures proper alignment for accurate and reliable resealing.
